Ride Lake Tahoe

Ride Lake Tahoe! A ride around the Lake allows curvy mountain turns and some of the most famous scenic sightseeing our area has to offer. Highway 28, State Route 89, and Highway 50 take you all the way around the Lake, with incredible vista views and areas of interest along the way. State Route 431 / Mount Rose Hwy, SR 207 / Kingsbury Grade and SR 237/ Old Brockway Rd are additional access points for the Lake with great views along the way.

The name comes from the small caves on the west side, cut by waves when the Lake was 140 feet higher during the Ice Age. Cave Rock is also a spiritual site of the regions earliest residents, the Washoe Indian Tribe.

Virginia City

Plan a Virginia City trip! At its peak Virginia City was a thriving boomtown with millions of dollars worth of gold and silver ore buried deep beneath the city streets. Miners, bankers, businessmen and working girls travelled thousands of miles to make their fortunes on the Comstock. Said to have financed the Civil War, Virginia City is rich with history and still maintains the same feeling as the days when Mark Twain roamed her streets. Some of the spirits of those original residents are said to still inhabit Virginia City’s oldest buildings and visitors today have a chance to experience the Old West in the shadow of Sun Mountain. Take a ride back in time to this incredible mining town, preserved in the glory of its heyday.
