Reno Harley-Davidson®is an authorized instructor for the Rider's Edge® New Rider Course. What's Rider's Edge® you say? It's not just motorcycle instruction, it's an education about life on two wheels and what it means to be a part of a unique community of individuals who share a passion for the open road.

Rider's Edge® New Rider Course Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Who can take part in the New Rider Course?
A: Even if you've never ridden a motorcycle before, don't worry. The Rider's Edge® New Rider Course was specially designed to give you the knowledge and the skills to ride with confidence.

Q: How much does a New Rider Course cost?
A: The course fee is $295. You will receive $50 in "Blast Bucks" which you can spend at Reno Harley-Davidson/Buell. H.O.G.® members can also qualify for a $50 rebate through H.O.G.® which can be used at any Harley-Davidson® dealer.

Q:When and where do the New Rider Courses take place?
A:The class runs from 6pm to 9pm on Thursday and Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday from 7am to 5pm. There is a mix of classroom instruction and practical instruction on a closed course using a Buell® Blast® motorcycle that we provide.

Q:What do I need to bring to my New Rider Course?
A:You will need a motorcycle helmet that meets D.O.T. requirements, protective eye wear, gloves, and boots that cover your ankles. Long pants and a long-sleeve shirt are required as well. All other course materials will be provided.

Q:What do I get when I complete the course?
A:Upon successful completion of the New Rider Course, you will receive a Motorcycle Safety Foundation® (MSF) completion card which will allow you to get your motorcycle endorsement from the DMV with no further testing. You may also qualify for a discount on your insurance. You will need to call your insurance provider to verify this.
