Klothes 2 Kids Presented by Reno Harley-Davidson/Buell and KTVN Channel 2

Here's Marci presenting Rick Redding head of the Reno Sparks Gospel Mission with $1700 in gift cards for some of the area's children.

We've had our Black and Blue Ball and our Klothes 2 Kids annual poker run but you can still donate to this wonderful charity. Just shoot Marci an Email. And keep your calendars open for our Black and Blue Ball 2010 coming in April!

Our annual Klothes 2 Kids Poker run and party was June 27, 2009. We had food by Outback Steakhouse, brews provided by Great Basin Brewery, live music, silent auction, raffle prizes and of course a great ride. The first 250 received a T-shirt and ride pin. If you'd like to donate you can contact
Marci Crowell.

This year our live music at the party was provided by the local Reno band AM/FM Reno! Al Reed, Bill Allen, Jason "The Beast" Wulf, and David lee are going to rock your socks off with a great mix of everything from Chuck Berry to Buckcherry!

Our Black and Blue Ball was April 23rd,2009.
The evening in Leather and Denim featured fine wines from Silver Peak, Sierra tap House and Legends, mirco brews from Great Basin Brewery, food from Thunder Canyon Country Club, Texas Road House, Rutherford's Catering and desserts from Nothing Bundcakes and Batch Cupcakery. There was live music from Bad Neighbors and the UNR dance team along with Controlled Burn and the Battle Born Derby Demons provided plenty of entertainment. There was an outstanding silent auction and all the proceeds went to benefit Klothes 2 Kids and help kids in our local community.

John & Marci Crowell, of Reno Harley-Davidson/Buell, request your support for “Klothes 2 Kids”. This charity helps underprivileged high school teens in the Washoe County School District acquire NEW clothing year round. Our goal is to raise $50,000 this year with donations from the local businesses, local residents and the motorcycle community.

“The money is spent purchasing gift cards from ROSS Inc. and with the help of our friend Paul Dugan, the Superintendent of Washoe County Schools, they are distributed so that hundreds of local teens can purchase the clothing they need to have a better self image when they go to school.” says Reno Harley-Davidson/Buell co-owner Marci Crowell. “Clothing is such a big part of your personality and self esteem, especially at that age. We just feel it is extremely important for these kids to concentrate and learn in school and they need to feel good about themselves and feel good about the way they look.” She went on to say that it takes a large burden off of local families who struggle to make ends meet with the high cost of housing and gas.

We raised $20,000 last year, and we’d like to help more teens this year with your help. We are planning two events the 1st is our “Black & Blue Ball”. A wonderful evening in Leather and Denim is planned for Thursday, April 23rd with fine wines from Legends, beer from Great Basin Brewing Company, heavy hors d’oeuvres, live music by "Bad Neighbors" and a silent auction of must-have items will be available for bidding. The 2nd event is our Annual Poker Run that will take place on Saturday, June 27th. Ride starts here at the Dealership before taking off on your motorcycle and ending up back at the Dealership for a party.

Here are some comments about the K2K program:

Steve Mulvenon (Director of Communications & Community Outreach): “The initial Klothes 2 Kids project has been a resounding success and we look forward to a long partnership. Literally hundreds of students have benefited and we owe the community a huge heartfelt ‘thank you’.”

Paul Dugan (Washoe County School District Superintendent): “Without the generosity and support of Klothes 2 Kids, these students would be unable to experience the joy and pride of having brand new clothes for school. On behalf of Washoe County School District, I thank all of you for your ongoing support of this very successful and needed program.”

…”now I don’t have to wear my dad’s shoes anymore.” – Student

…one student was trying to get out of a gang but all she had to wear were gang colors, received a gift card for new clothes.

John & Marci thank you for your generous contribution and look forward to seeing you at one or both events!
