John and Marci Crowell are celebrating their fourth year anniversary as the owners of Reno Harley-Davidson^®/Buell. “We’re having the time of our lives”. John and Marci prior to purchasing “Harley-Davidson of Reno”, owned by Bud and Patti Evans, were long-time employees of Harley-Davidson^® Motor Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. John, originally an Iowa farmboy, worked in the Harley-Davidson’s Sales Department for 25 years and Marci, born and raised in Milwaukee, worked in Harley-Davidson’s^® Marketing Department for 23 years. “It’s in our blood”. “We can’t imagine doing anything else. It’s not only our business, it’s our lifestyle.” John and Marci are both riders. John’s current ride is a 2007 Electra Glide^® Classic and Marci rides a 2008 Softail^® Deluxe. They have ridden all over the world.

John and Marci have two beautiful daughters, Danielle and Lauren. Danielle is off to college this year and Lauren will be leaving next year. “ It’ll be quiet. All we’ll have left is our Golden Retriever puppy, who is now 5 months old. There will be more time to do some of the hobbies we love which include golf, tennis, travel, skiing and, of course, riding motorcycles.”

Since the Crowell’s moved to Reno, they have always strived to help the community. “It’s our home and we want to give back.” John and Marci, with the help of many local businesses in Reno, have been raising money to help the children of the Washoe County School District who are in need through our “Klothes 4 Kids” program. The goal is to raise $50,000 per year. Reno Harley-Davidson^® will, in turn, take that money and purchase gift cards from Ross Stores, Inc. The counselors from the Washoe County Schools give those gift cards to students who can’t afford to buy new clothes. It helps those children focus on what’s important in their lives; getting a good education.
